Last year I bought an iPod nano 2nd gen, and felt a bit sick when a week or two later the 3rd gen nano (fatty) came out. When the iPod Touch came out I was feeling a bit sicker, but couldn't justify (to myself mostly) spending more cash on a Touch.

At the same time I bought a Griffin iTrip to use with the nano, and thought of a solution - if I make use of the nano/iTrip only in the car then I'll need a replacement for my pocket.

So I'd justified the purchase of an iPod Touch after all.

But, two days after a bright shiny 16GB iPod Touch arrived - Steve Jobs (bless him!) announced an extra 5 applications for the Touch and that sickly feeling returned.

All was not lost as I'd bought the iPod Touch for quite a discount under the Apple Store price from a UK company and even after paying for the extra applications from the iTunes Store, the total cost was still less that the Apple Store price of a new updated iPod Touch.

Since then I've been very pleased with my iPod Touch.
