Over the last few weeks or so there have been some interesting developments with the future of Scargill House.  Our new Bishop (Chris Edmondson) has been appointed Chairman of the Scargill Movement Trust, and then I had a message from Mike Peak (ex Scargill Community) with some very good news. 23rd September 1974

34 years ago on this date (a Monday actually) I given a white coat with the letters 'UMRCC' in blue over the top pocket and was shown into the Computer Room; a mag tape reel was thrust into my hands and shown how to load and unload a tape deck.  For the rest of that day, that was basically all that I did and when I asked why - was told that "tape loading is what you'll be doing a lot of in this job"

Since the version 2.0 update to the iPod Touch / iPhone system, I've been having a play around with the free apps.

Last year I bought an iPod nano 2nd gen, and felt a bit sick when a week or two later the 3rd gen nano (fatty) came out. When the iPod Touch came out I was feeling a bit sicker, but couldn't justify (to myself mostly) spending more cash on a Touch.

Before the advent of real colour photography, Quite a few 'Studios' would offer to produce colour images from their monochrome photographs.  In some cases this involved hand-colouring the monochrome prints with a brush and in a lot of cases the actual colours used were up to the photographer/artist.

Below are a couple that I found whilst rummaging around in an old Photo Album.

A while back, a few members of the family said that it would be a good idea to do something about our family tree, so muggins here volunteered to get it done. I've been using MacFamilyTree (on a Mac of course!) to enter the details and so far have managed to get back to around 1813 on my Mums side, and just around 1900 on my Dads side.

All sorts of things tend to get unearthed in Genealogy, and one day we came across an old (really old) photograph album.
